Robert M. “Bob” Welcome, 78, of Peoria, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at home.
Bob was born in Peoria on April 13, 1931, a son of Harold E. and Audrey (Buck) Welcome. He married Linda L. Herring on July 3, 1959 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2006 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Samuel Post. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy L. Welcome and granddaughter, Ashleigh E. Pyatt.
Bob was a welder and retired, after forty years of service, with the Boilermakers Local 60 in Morton. He loved country music, welding and working in his garage. Bob was a very loving, giving and funny man. He will be remembered for being a hard worker and for taking care of his family. He was the best dad and papa and an all around great man.
Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, with the Rev. Dean Grabill officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Methodist Hospice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, in Peoria.

Tammy, I worked with your mom at Jumers for many years and was with her when she got sick. I recently lost my partner of 14 years and know how nice it is to hear words of encouragement. I am sorry for your loss and will add you to my prayers. God Bless you and your family at this time and in to the future.
